Hello, I'm not sure if anyone has looked ahead at this week yet and what we have to do as a group but, I've looked ahead and thought of some ideas and wanted to share the. The first thing we need to do together will be deciding what type of assignment we would do with our class ( that directly relates to our Project-based Learning topic-Staying Healthy/Healthy habits) to demonstrate cultural understanding and global awareness. We will need write up an informal lesson plan. Examples might be having students in your class and in a class from a different place compare and contrast differences and similarities between their regions as they relate to the content of their projects (i.e. different/similar vegetables, birds, weather, etc.) We have a form to follow for our lesson plan which is the (Template for Virtual Penpal lesson plan). Only one person from the group needs to upload it to the dropbox by sunday at midnight. I have some ideas I wanted to share, I was thinking for our location, to choose a completely different cultural then the United States, maybe India. Women are not allowed to be as independent as we are here in the United States we may want to address what healthy snacks they eat and meals they prepare, along the fitness component we could focus on are they allowed separate times for themselves to attend or participate in gyms or yoga. Or we could focus on fitness clothing where people in India may have to have their arms and face covered as part as their culture. In the United States women often wear just a tank/sports bra and shorts. Let me know your ideas and what you think, these are just some of my ideas.
Once we've done that the second thing we need to do is create a map in Google Maps.
The map need to be related to our Virtual Penpals assignment. The google map will then need to be
put into/attached into our blog with an explanation about the map.
